It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Novosad Wieghat (Needville, Texas), who passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Novosad and Adela Cordes Novosad; her husband Lawrence H. "Pete" Wieghat; her brother Steven Novosad; her grandson Kane Wieghat; her grandparents, Anton, Frances Novosad, Johanus B. and Lena Cordes Kral; her siblings, Lad A. Novosad (Bessie), Johnnie Novosad (Lorene), Gilbert Novosad, Jane Scheel (George) and Lillian Steffek (Jerry); her brothers-in-law, Ervin Meyer, William "Bill" Sekula and Thomas Jackson; her niece Denise Van Osdel; and her nephews, Little John Van Osdel, Kevin Scheel, Randall Steffek, Mike Novosad and Michael Lynn Novosad.
She is survived by: her sons, Rodney Wieghat (Darlene), Timothy Wieghat (Jennifer), Carlton Wieghat (Chriss) and Scott Wieghat; her grandchildren, Rhett (Andrea Wieghat), Reed (Madison Wieghat), Chance Wieghat, Cierra (Tony Rothman), Cord Wieghat (Shelby Mindrup), Tyler, Laurie Wieghat, Tanner, Heather Wieghat and Kyla Wieghat; her great grandchildren, Carsen English, Graysen Wieghat, Charlie Wieghat, Owen Wieghat, Bo Rothman, Jemma Rothman and Meredith Wieghat; her sisters, Rosalie Meyer, Marie Sekula and Adeline "Addie" Jackson; and her sister-in-law Joyce Novosad.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Michaels Catholic Church for masses for the repose of her soul, Needville Food Pantry, Wieghat Memorial Foundation, or St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
