We are sad to announce that on March 9, 2023, at the age of 101, Vernon Askew of Nederland, Texas, born in Shelbyville, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lola Hagler Askew and Thomas Buford Askew; and his wife Marcella Askew. He is survived by: his children, Richard Askew (Michelle) of Nederland, Ed Askew of Jasper, Steven Askew (Kashia) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Cheryl Cary of Lake Charles and Donna Cockrell (Tracy) of La Porte; his granddaughter Jennifer Balsamo (Jeremy); his daughters, Heather McNeal (Jason), Haley Cary, Jesse Askew, Brooke Gresham (Josh), Katelyn Migues (Derrek), Kyle Cockrell (Ashley) and Jena Anderson (Matt); his great grandchild Aiden; his grandchildren, Blake McNeal (Marleigh), Kaelin, Justine, Leland, Addisyn, Allyssa, Micah, Allisyn, Amelia, Madisyn, Cadence, Zoey, Kyler, Brady, Beau, Beckett, Brinley, Ellie, Macie and Brooklyn; his great great grandchild Luke McNeal; and his sister Myrline Bradshaw.
