He was predeceased by: his parents, Celso Vanegas and Estanislada Moran; and his siblings, Clemente Vanegas, Julian Vanegas and Lidia Vanegas.
He is survived by: his wife Monica Cristina Banegas of Nederland, Texas; his children, Adita Vanegas, Arely Banegas, Ferbin Vanegas, Juan Vanegas, Tania Banegas and William Castillo; and his siblings, Gloria Vanegas, Alejandro Vanegas, Maria Vanegas, Juana Vanegas, Liduvina Vanegas and Reinaldo Vanegas.
