She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruthie Gertrude Mosley Polk and James Luther Polk; her son Luther Merriman; her siblings, Jerry Lee Polk and Patricia Desormeaux; her granddaughter Natalee Ruth Merriman; and her great grandchildren, Abel Kolten Smith and Gwen Marie Bonsall.
She is survived by: her children, Shane Merriman (Pam) and Elda Merriman (Anthony Nomura II) of Nederland; her grandchildren, Zachary Merriman, Anthony Nomura III, LeLani Nomura (Jonathan Whitt), Paul Casey Pelton and Amanda Murray; and her great grandchildren, Olita Nomura, Hayden Whitt, Conner Blaine Pelton and Miranda McBride. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
