He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonse Ehly and Marion Ehly (Schacher); and his nephew Evan Ehly. He is survived by: his wife Jill Ehly of Nazareth; his son Tyler Ehly of Nazareth, Texas; his brothers, Arnold Ehly (Shawn) of Tulia and Bruce Ehly (Peggy) of Dimmitt, Texas; his stepfather Leo Durbin of Amarillo, Texas; and his siblings-in-law, Joy Wethington (Melvin) of Nazareth, Texas, LaRue Nolen (Michelle) of Otis and Todd Nolen (Darla) of Dimmitt, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Nazareth Cemetery Fund.
