He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel and Lillian; and his brothers, Joseph D. "JD" Hooks and Joseph L. "Bud" Hooks. He is survived by: his brothers, Master Carpenter, Thomas Mitchell of Texas and Bill; his niece Carolyne Clepper; his daughter Dona Swarts (Brad); his granddaughters, Baylee and Brennan; his son William A. "Tony" Hooks (Lindsay); and his siblings, Floyd Hooks (Susie), Nell Walcott (Allen) and Jane Stelly.
