He was predeceased by: his mother Mauretta Joy Shumate Edwards. He is survived by: his father Ned Edwards; his wife Karin Ann Edwards; his children, Allison (Quadye Addison) and Cash Edwards; and his brother Tracy (Krissy Edwards). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Monte requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his honor.
