It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charlotte Gayle Belt Hale of Navasota, Texas, born in Woodville, Texas, who passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rex Belt and Corrie Lee Belt. She is survived by: her husband Ronnie Hale; her children, Kevin Hale (Laura) of Willis and Kheli LaBlue (Kris) of College Station; her grandchildren, Gracie LaBlue, Beth Hale, Emily LaBlue, Jacob Hale and Addison LaBlue; her sisters, Marzi Smith (Carroll) and Bili Shepherd; and her sister-in-law Vicky Hale. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

“You would not know me,and I'm sure Charlotte would vaguely remember were it not for her having to to ride the school bus with black students back then to her home between Comesneil&Doucett. It was a time of much strife ,a time of integration. I remember her so well because I personally always interpreted her actions as being neutral to how other students felt towards African Americans. I remember that little high school riddled with racism. So sorry for your loss. She was a gentle soul.”
