She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Chaulker and Frances Pate Chaulker; and her sister Bobbie Louise Preston. She is survived by: her husband Lee Shanks; her sons, Kelley Shanks (Trayce), Dan Shanks (Norma) and Ronnie Shanks (Lori); her grandchildren, Teejay Shanks (Aerrial), Heather Novascone (Jason), Erin Brooks, Michael Shanks, Amanda VanderLinden (Drew), Kelcie Moore (Joseph) and Lacie Firth; and her siblings, Peggy Guyton and Bennie Wayne Chaulker (Shirley). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
