He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Merrell and Winnie Merrell (Grose); and his son Tim Merrell. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Merrell of Nash, TX; his son Ernest David Merrell of Ashdown; his siblings, Dean, Gene Ward of Dallas, TX and Rebecca Pickering of Dallas, TX; and his grandchildren, Ernest Ryan Merrell, Megan Merrell and Tyler Merrell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Madden Funeral Home - Ashdown (371 N 3rd St, Ashdown, AR 71822).
