He is survived by: his wife Bobbye Jean Newby Hancock of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his son Joe Edwin; and his daughter-in-law Beverly Burns Hancock of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by two nephews and one niece.
