Steve Scales wrote a sympathy message

“Vida best known as Honey was the best mother in law I could have imagined. Caring, kind, supportive, creative, generous, and loving. The most wonderful grandmother and great grandmother and mother. Her resilience to life's challenges was and always will be inspiring. Honey embraced a joyful life each day. A life of an "attitude of gratitude" . Her laugh was infectious. She always made everyone feel welcomed. James Raney said, "she was fun". Yes. My life was enriched beyond words.”
