We bid farewell to Susie Maytrait Dempsey (Nacogdoches, Texas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 6, 2025 at the age of 94. Susie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the vast expanse of eternity, Susie shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Susie farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Giles Cureton and Susie Chalker Cureton. She is survived by: her children, Gregory Dempsey, Aubrey Dempsey, Nora Susan Hughes, Carolyn Yates, Cindy Jones and Rejeana Stewart. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; over 42 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (2116 South St, Nacogdoches, TX 75964). A graveside service was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Swift Cemetery.
