He was predeceased by: his parents, Luis Veliz and Catalina Veliz (Rivera). He is survived by: his wife Genoveva Tanguma Veliz; his sons, Ricardo Veliz and Ruben Veliz; and his siblings, Trinidad Gutierrez, Rita Ayala, Juan Veliz, Jesse Veliz and Luis Veliz.
