She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Bender Thornton and Patsy Gene O'Brien Thornton; her husband William Howard Miles; her son Tommy Eugene Miles; and her brothers, Jim and John Thornton.

She is survived by: her children, Howard Bender Miles (Kim), Tim Miles and Lara Adams (Randy); her granddaughters, Elizabeth Miles McBride (Justin), Abby Adams and Emily Adams; her daughter-in-law Danita West (Randy); and her sisters, Sue Sullivan (Lonnie) and Patsy Chaler (Boo). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
