With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frank Wendell Slack of Nacogdoches, Texas, who passed away on January 10, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Bessie Houston Slack; his wife Juanita Ryland Slack; his daughters, Renee Bean (Slack) and Brigitte Leigh Rucker (Slack); his father Benjamin Franklin Slack; his brother-in-law Kenneth Gene Sullivan; his parents-in-law, Alfred Murrell Ryland and Audrey Davidson Ryland; and his sister-in-law Shirley Ryland Corley (Wiley P. Corley).
He is survived by: his friend Gary McLaughlin; his daughter Susan Magee (Don) of Douglass, TX; his grandchildren, Angela Reynolds (Joel) of Cabot, AR, Jeremy Magee (Inas) of Douglass, TX and Matthew Magee (Heather) of Portland, OR; his great grandchildren, Gabriel Reynolds (Jacklyn) of Sasebo, Griffin Reynolds of Okinawa, Brennan Harrison Magee of Douglass, TX and Connor Magee of Douglass, TX; his great great grandchild Gwendolyn Faye Reynolds of Sasebo, Japan; his sisters, Nell Slack Bice (Jack) of Lewiston, ID and Sue Slack Sullivan of Cotton Valley, LA; and his sons-in-law, Edward Bean of Maumelle, AR and Jerry Rucker of Princeton, TX. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home - Springhill (304 First Street, Northwest Springhill, LA 71075). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the New Sarepta Baptist Church (199 S Main St, Sarepta, LA 71071).
