He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Rainey and Mary Ellen Fare; his sister Elaine Fare Spurgeon; his granddaughter Katherine Allyson Brown (Katie); his son-in-law William Brophy; and his nephew Charles Spurgeon.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Beard Fare of Nacogdoches; his children, Shelley Fare Brophy of Nacogdoches, Allyson Fare Hartt (Jim) of Marshall, Julie Fare Madden of Lufkin and Travis Fare of Austin; his grandchildren, Megan Hartt Ocampo (David), Mitchell Hartt (Lindsey), Chris Brophy, Madison Fare and Mackenzie Madden; his great grandchildren, Barrett, Cannon and Remedy Hartt; his nephew Clint Spurgeon; and his niece JoEllen Spurgeon McConnell.
