David Wayne Jernigan Obituary
David Wayne Jernigan, age 62, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. David was born in Houston, Texas on February 1, 1961 to Pascal Shelton Jernigan and Betty Elizabeth Fancher Jernigan.
David graduated from Woden High School and was a professional Truck Driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and anything related to big trucks (18-wheelers).
Survived by his wife, Shirley Jernigan; daughters, Ashley Higgins and husband Matt, Carrie Savell, Michelle Grant and husband Peter; sons, Patrick, Jeremy and Jared Jernigan; grandchildren, Trista (Bella), Keatchie, Christian, Kaden, Cason, Hannah, Casey, Kathleen, Timothy, Stephen Junior and Eli; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Aliana, and Harper; sister, Sheila Jernigan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Pascal Jernigan and wife Faye; mother Betty Wendland and husband Ronnie; grandparents; and son, Stephen Savell.
A visitation for David will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM.
David will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Jernigan, Christian Jernigan, Kaden Jernigan, Cason Jernigan, Patrick Jernigan, Jared Jernigan, Matt Higgins and Tanner Bradley.
