He is survived by: his wife Kathy Dodd; his sons, Kevin Mitchell (Carola) of Brooklyn, NY and Wesley Mitchell (Valerie) of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Heidi "Ruth" Mitchell of Birmingham, AL and Sawyer Brooks Mitchell of Birmingham, AL; and his sister Christine Bass of Shreveport, LA.
