He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lewis Wayne and Wanda Jean Shafer (Whitmire); his wife Sherrie Ray Reed; his children, Kevin Reed (Krista) of Lubbock, Tyson Reed (Summer) of Lubbock, Texas, Annie Matthews (Jimmie) of Dallas, Emily Shafer of Lubbock and Stephanie Reed of Lubbock, Texas; his sisters, Ellen Shafer Mardis (Mark) of Burnet and Linda Shafer Rhoads (Jeff) of Lafayette, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Raegan, Payton, Presley, Prestyn, Parkyr, Zachary, Kash and Jaxson; and his nieces and nephews, Joshua Rhoads, Chase Mardis, Sarah Mardis Scott, Amy Mardis and Jenna Rhoads Compton.
