He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Sommer, Sr. and Erna "Loessin" Sommer; and his brother Harvey Sommer. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Sommer; his sons, Ron Sommer of La Grange, Ricky Sommer (Karen) of Hockley and Randy Sommer of Muldoon; his sisters, Violet Hollas (Harvey) and Lera Bell Kipp (Marty); his grandchildren, Brandy Faulk (Joey), Kalynn Hughes (Nick), Kacie Clack (Kelly) and Ashley Sommer; and his great grandchildren, Jaiden Hughes, Sommer Hughes, Everly Clack, Rylan Clack and Joseph Faulk. He is also survived by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter.
