He was predeceased by: his father James Kirkland; his grandparents, George A Phillips (Soggie), Doris (Pawpaw Kirk), Fawnie Kirkland and Maude Taylor; his father-in-law Ben Renner; and his friend Starlyn Black.
He is survived by: his wife Dee Anne Kirkland; his son Tristan of Mt. Pleasant; his mother Linda Kirkland of Mt. Pleasant; his sister Tonja King of Humble; and his nephews, Tayte Doddy of Houston and Trent Doddy of Humble.
