With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sam Nolan Morton Jr. of Mount Pleasant, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 16, 2024 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Nolan Morton Sr. and Anna Lou Morton (Smith); his brother Tommy Rex Morton; his daughter Cheryl Mauldin; and his pet Suzie.
He is survived by: his wife Laquetta Morton (Hardin); his children, Mark Morton, Quincy Morton, Tammie (Kenny Rosewell), Lora Sargent, Teresa Rankin, Manny Simon, Sam Simon, Angel Logan, Abby Simon and Nathan Simon; and his sisters, Wanda (A. L. Lynch) and Sandra (Quinton Kelly). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the South Jefferson Baptist Church (1701 S Jefferson Ave, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at the Nevill's Chapel Cemetery (113 Co Rd 3210, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455).
