She was predeceased by: her parents, William Evans and Sluane Evans (Hayes); her husband John Edwards; her son Gary Edwards; her stepchildren, Sam Edwards and Barbara Harper; and her grandchildren, Charles Edwards, Cynthia Harper-Johnson and Marshall Thomas, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Caron Edwards of Mt. Pleasant, Ronnie Edwards of Mt. Pleasant, Sarah Thomas of Mt. Pleasant and Edna Rembert of Dallas, Texas; her stepdaughters, Patricia Hodge of Dallas and Linda Brown of Seattle, WA; her siblings, Tom Evans (Linda) of Naples, Henry Evans (Gloria) of Redwater, William Evans (Essie) of Mesquite, Texas, Willie Mae Buckingham of Garland and Martha Jones of Naples, Texas; and her close friend Benita Turner of Alaska. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
