Joe Shankle Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Shankle (Mount Pleasant, Texas), who passed away on January 31, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Roy Shankle and Minnie Lee Smith Shankle; his siblings, Learon Shankle, Billy Shankle and G'Nel Miller; and his nephews, Larry Miller, Scott Miller, Robert Shankle, Mark Shankle and Rodney Shankle.

He is survived by: his wife Vonnie Shankle; his children, Tim Shankle, Marty Shankle (Dana) and Jill Shankle; his granddaughters, Christy Shankle Carpenter (Cliff) and Jessie Cavel; his great grandchildren, Katherine and Elizabeth Carpenter; his sister-in-law Mildred Shankle; his nephew Lee Shankle; and his nieces, Peggy Allen and Sarah Miller.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
