We are sad to announce that on December 30, 2023, at the age of 86, George James Brown of Mount Pleasant, Texas, born in Austin, Texas passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of George James Brown to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Selma Leroy and Ethel Belle Brown; his sister Cherie Belle; his brother-in-law Clyde Copus; and his grandchildren, Brooklyn Kelly and Peanut Campbell.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Brown. He is also survived by his family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in George's honor to the Texas Rural Education Association (TREA) or Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), organizations that were close to his heart. Donations may also be made to the University of Central Arkansas' Ferguson-Brown Nutrition Scholarship created by a former employee of Region 8 ESC.
