He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix Wood Stephenson and Bertha Pauline Sloan; his brothers, Frankie Stephenson and Jimmy Don Sawyer; and his grandmother Ora Stephenson.
He is survived by: his children, John F. Stephenson (Kim) of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Rachel Leithead (Donald) of Liberty Hill, TX, Michelle (William Zachry) of Tyler, TX, Clint Stephenson (Amber) of Liberty Hill, TX, Dara Johnston of Swan Valley, ID and Dawn Blankenship (Brent) of Flower Mound, TX.; his sister Connie Chandler of Lubbock, TX; and his spouse Camellia Wright. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
