He was predeceased by: his grandson Brandon Ellis; and his brother James Ellis. He is survived by: his children, Troy Ellis of Dallas, Texas, Mark Patterson of Dallas, Texas, Daundra Ellis of Mt. Pleasant and Veronica Ellis of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Troy Ellis Jr., Victoria Smith, Derrick Smith, Shalicia Cook, Jada Cook, Taylor Ellis and La Marqu Patterson; his great grandchild Carter Jackson; his sister-in-law Delois Ellis of Dallas, Texas; and his nephew Cleathon Ellis of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
