He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Robbins and Devella Hubbard; and his siblings, Essie Mae Phillips, Cleophas Robbins and Jewell Lee Robbins Myers.
He is survived by: his children, David Urps, Barbara Mouton Robbins (Johnisa Devon Robbins), John David Robbins Jr. (Walterine), Samuel Dallas Robbins (Tomiko) and Rhone Ray Robbins (April); his sisters, Lois Wyne, Joyce Robbins and Constance Denkins; his grandchildren, Deonshae Robbins-Thomas (Pooh), Alexcia Hampton (Hamp), Deondre Robbins, Christopher Hampton, Erica Hampton, Rochelle Robbins, John Hampton (Jay), Rhea Hampton (Re-Re) and Kayla Robbins; and his great grandchildren, Jaxen Thomas, Kynslee Hampton, Xoe Thomas and Jeremiah Thomas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
