He was predeceased by: his grandmother Ann McHatten; and his aunts and uncles, Sandra McHatten (Howard), Sharon McHatten, Sheila Harris, Deborah Kelly, Trinity McHatten, Charles Bell, Raymond Moore and Brian Moore.

“I was just telling a story to my fellow Airmen about Dequan yesterday. My nickname for him was “tripod” because he was all arms and legs :) I had so many memories with him at Kadena AB. He was full of spirit and determined to learn how to work on a new airframe. He had heart and conviction, strong willed at times like most young men but always willing to see someone else’s perspective and learn from other people. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. His family will be in my prayers. RIP.”
