It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julia Ida (Mertz) Hillyard of Moody, Texas, born in Taylor, Texas, who passed away on February 9, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Mertz and Mary Mertz (Walther); her husband H. B. Hillyard, Jr.; her children, Kenneth Wayne Hillyard and Mary Jane Hillyard; and her brothers, Leroy Mertz and Allen Mertz.
She is survived by: her sons, Richard Allen Hillyard (Pat) of Hillsboro and Billy Ray Hillyard of Moody; her grandson Zachary Hillyard of Moody; and her sister-in-law Joyce Mertz of Rogers. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
