He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Cooper and Rebecca Cooper (Spence); his former wife Ula-Vea; his wife Thelma Gabbard; and his stepson Mike Spicer.
He is survived by: his children, Roy (Nelda Cooper) of West and Gene Cooper of Ozona; his daughter-in-law Vikki Cooper of New Braunfels; his grandchildren, Shane (Kari Cooper) of Maxwell, Jeanie Hill (Tim) of New Braunfels, Kim Cooper (Darren Golden) of San Diego, Kelly and Lloyd Bergman of Denison; and his stepchildren, Sue Boss of Moody, Robert (Jammie Spicer) of Arlington and Jimmy Spicer of Palestine. He is also survived by many step grandchildren, not to mention numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
