He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Burgess and Anna Lee Burgess (Biddy); his wife Beverly Jean Burgess (Stonehouse); and his granddaughter Brigette Brown Hughes. He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Dyess (Allan), Michelle Guerra (Mike) of Moody and Susie Shugart (Scott) of Moody, Texas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
