She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jewel Mathis and Homer Mathis; her husband Monroe; her son Keith; her sister Shirley Rutledge (Lloyd); her daughter Sheila Gillette (Greg); her nephew Layne Vannoy (Amy); and her grandchildren, Chris Gillette (Rachel), Geoff Gillette (Heather), Michael Odom (Terry), Ray Odom and DeNeah Cox (David). She was also cherished by ten great- grandchildren.
Battling her own illness with dementia the last 9 years of her life, LaHoma was ready to go home when she passed peacefully in her sleep with COVID on Jan. 26. 2021 at the age of 84.
