He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Whitecotton and Capitola Whitecotton; his wife Dorothy Whitecotton; his daughter Janet Whitecotton; and his siblings, Jerald Whitecotton and Ophilia Simpson.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Whitecotton (Diana Smith) and David Whitecotton (Helen); his grandchildren, Lorinda Faye Timms, Thomas James Whitecotton, Sarah Anne Morrow, Michael Gene Whitecotton, Mark Christopher Whitecotton, Fayde Hunter Smith and Timothy James Whitecotton; and his sister Jackie Stillwell. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
