He was predeceased by: his grandson Dustin Lee Sellers; his parents, Alberto Rangel and Apolonia Rangel; and his brothers, Guadalupe Perez (Angelica Maldonado), Roberto Rangel and Francisco Rangel.
He is survived by: his wife America Balli; his children, Debbie Valenzuela (Eddie), Johnny Rangel (Ann-Marie), Cynthia Sellers (Grayson), David Rangel (Sharon) and Robert Rangel (Christy); his grandchildren, Noah Sellers, Ben Pena, Rebecca Hentzell, Miha Rangel and Nadia Rangel; his great grandchildren, Benjamin Pena, Zoe Pena, Gage Hentzell and Hatcher Sellers; and his sisters, Susie Rangel and Beatriz Rodriguez. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, we humbly ask that donations be made in memory of John Henry Rangel to the RGV Humane Society, which is located at 2729 N. Expressway 77 in Harlingen, Tx.
