She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Cox and Naomi Cox Simnacher. She is survived by: her husband Melvin Howard; her children, Joe Moore (Yvette) of Lubbock, Cindy Cook (Doug) of Kyle, Debbie Howard of Lubbock and Indi Howard of Waxahachie; and her brother James Cox (Wanda) of Grapevine. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Opalene's name to the Alzheimer's Association, the Dementia Society of America, the Cure Alzheimer's Fund or the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation.
