She was predeceased by: her parents, Avril Scott and Thomas Scott of Mineola; and her parents-in-law, Avis and Edward Melvin of Mineola. She is survived by: her husband Dick Melvin; her daughters, Ashley Blackwell (Luke) of Lindale, Lindsey Melvin of Emory and Jaime Jackson (BJ) of Lindale; her grandchildren, Kaleb, Liam, Jase, Mason, Kaleigh and Addyson; her siblings, Betty Samples of Van, Peggy Lea (Joe) of Emory and Tommy Scott (Vicki) of Mineola; and her sisters-in-law, Cheryl Tucker (Michael) of Golden and Chelia Melvin.
In Lieu of Flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up in Sharon's name. Donations can be made at Mineola Community Bank under the Sharon Melvin Memorial Scholarship Fund.
