She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylis Hicks and Mary B. Hicks; her husband Joe Slayton; her son Bobby Joe Slayton; and her brothers, Jessie Frank Hicks and Ray Leon Hicks.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Damita Williams, Joshua Slayton (Elizabeth) and Destiny Slayton. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
