He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Hanes and Emma Hanes (Johnston); his foster parents, Louis J. Zundel and Ethel Zundel; his son Douglas Hanes; and his siblings, Paul Hanes (Carol), Harold Hanes, Pauline Davis, Charles Hanes, Stanley Hanes and Shirley Morgan.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Eckman Hanes; and his children, Brenda McCord (Walt) of Uniontown, OH and Jeffrey Hanes (Micki) of Big Sandy, TX.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at 135 Autumn Winds Ct, Mineola, TX 75773.
