He was predeceased by: his parents, Zelma Vaughan and James Lee Boyd; his children, Tenessa Fitzgerald, Brenda Stout and James Raymond Boyd; his grandson Frankie Boyd; and his siblings, Johnny Hammy and Evelyn.

He is survived by: his children, Bobbie Boyd, Billy Boyd (Vickie), Ogle Lee Boyd, Jr. (Judy), Terry Boyd, Linda Winchester (Jackie) and Sandy Fitzgerald (Calvin). He is also survived by Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters.
