He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil George Yates and Nettie Myril Partin Yates; and his brother Jerry Yates. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Yates of Milam; his daughters, Jaime Snyder (Chad) of Humble and Jenny Cothron (Randy) of Crosby; his siblings, Richard Yates of Houston and Paulette Taylor (Randall) of Huffman; and his grandchildren, Makayla Windfont, Malik Windfont, Lily Cothron, Kira Cothron, Gabriel Snyder, Alyssa Snyder and Evan Snyder.
