Ruth left this world on December 30, 2024 at the age of 91, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Orlie M. Bird and Lola H. Bird (Melvin Pearce); her sisters, Anna B. Whitfield and Era Jo Graves Roper; and her son-in-law Douglas Hobbs.

She is survived by: her husband Melvin Pearce; her children, Peggy Hobbs and Bill Pearce (Judy Pearce); her grandchildren, Jamye Pearce Drovdahl (Chris Drovdahl), Zachary Hobbs (Susan Hobbs), Holly Henderson (Adam Henderson) and Whitney Flaherty (Brandon Flaherty); and her great grandchildren, Andrew Hobbs, Katherine Hobbs, Tyler Henderson, Emily Henderson and Sami Perez.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Methodist Church ~ Midlothian (800 S 9th St, Midlothian, TX 76065).

“I loved Aunt Ruth. While our parents worked, my sister Pam and I spent many hours at Ruth and Melvin's house at 3522 Brandon in Dallas. Before and after school, we played with Peggy and Bill Ruth was like a second Mother. I know I drank gallons of iced tea at her house.”
