He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lee Miles and Wilma Nantz Miles; his son Richard Wayne Miles II; and his siblings, Connie Fowler and Johnny Miles.

He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Hurm Miles; his son Trenton Joseph Miles; and his siblings, Linda Ambs (Pete), Gary Miles and Cathy Ambs.
