He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Rivas and Lovie Rivas (Phillips); and his siblings, Janet Bronner, Carol Bentley, Fred Rivas and Joe Rivas, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Amelia McCarty (Ron) of Waxahachie, Carolyn Kulp (Scott) of Biloxi and Catherine Felton of Biloxi, Mississippi; and his brother Richard Rivas (Evelyn) of Albuquerque. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in his name to your local veterans PTSD Association, Homeless Shelter, Women's Center for Non-Violence or local VFW Chapter.
