He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Harold Cooks and Blanche M Archie (Green); his stepfather Rev OJ Archie; his grandmother Odell Williams; his aunt Sedalia Malone; his uncles, Tommy Joe Mitchell and Hulen Malone; his nephew Allen Griffith; and his children, Shenitrice Golden, Monique Golden Perry and Lester Morrison.
He is survived by: his siblings, Myra Brantley, Kay Griffith, Lela McNary (Wallace), Sammy Ridge, James Archie Sr. (Alicia), Ray, Herman Malone (Anita), Otis Archie Jr. (Joe Morrow) and Michael Archie Sr. (Candace); and his close friend Alvin Silmon Jr. (Erma).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sanchez & Thomas Funeral Home Chapel (1502 N Lamesa Rd, Midland, TX 79701). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at the Fairview Cemetery (1620 N A St, Midland, TX 79705).
