He is survived by: his wife Eva Gonzalez; his sons, Manuel, Jr. and David; his grandchildren, Jessica Zarate-Shih, Joziah Zarate, Hannah Zarate, Mia Zarate and Matthew Zarate; and his great grandchild Archer Shih.
Viewing was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel (2508 N Big Spring St, Midland, TX 79705). A rosary was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrine (1401 Garden Ln, Midland, TX 79701).
