He was predeceased by: his son James Harley Melton; and his grandson Marcus Jacob Rosenberger Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Henderson; his daughters, Amy (Chad Earnest) and Lori Melton; his grandchildren, Madison, Joe Bolton, Kaitlin, Elijah, Ashlyn, Loren and Halle; and his great grandchildren, Paislee, Rylee and Banx.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel (3800 N Big Spring St, Midland, TX 79705).
