He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Hernandez Sandate and Andrea Menchaca Sandate; his sister Alicia Gonzales (Chachi); and his great-nephew Mark Anthony "Copperhead" Varela. He is survived by: his siblings, Yolanda Sanchez (Mario), Sheila Madrid (Charlie), Maria Madrid (Louis), Theresa Martinez (Virgilio) and Oscar Sandate (Alicia); and his pet Monkey. He is also survived by numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins.
Viewing was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Heavenly Gate Chapel (405 N Terrell St, Midland, TX 79701). A rosary was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
