She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ervin Brooks and Ella Treybig Brooks of Taft; her sisters, Gloria Brooks of Houston and Mary Syma of Taft; her husband Volus L. Bowman of Meyersville; her daughter Carol Kavakos of Corpus Christi; and her grandson Karsten Kavakos of Corpus Christi.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Bowman (Paula) of Plano and Bev Hill (Dale) of Meyersville; her grandchildren, Lissa DeCarrie, Diana Kavakos, Matthew Bowman, Sarah Foringer, Claudia Quintero and Bethany Schlotter; her great grandchildren, Trista, Caleb, Julian, Evan, Jaxson and Jett; and her great great grandchildren, Scarlet and Dylan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Texas Children's Home in Beeville or First Baptist Church.
